Who says when the day on the slopes comes to an end the entertainment has to stop?  Follow up a perfect ski day with live entertainment in Mt Washington Valley. You’ll find live music, theater, story-telling, opera houses and après-ski events going on in every corner of theValley..  Get thewhole scoop on where to nightlife and music to keep you entertained during and after your day on the trails. If you’re a real thespian, you will find no shortage of dramatic renditions of the most classic plays and even some original ones too. The valley is home to many playhouses and theater companies that have regular productions running. M&D Productions, located in North Conway, looks to entertain and inspire its audience through cutting-edge theater. Most every Thursday through Sunday, the production company is captivating audiences with a different play each month. Currently running until March 1st, “The Last of the Red Hot Lovers,” is a comedy focusing on a middle-aged man looking for love in all the wrong places. Show times are 7:30pm, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2:00pm on Sunday afternoons. Tickets are $20.00 per person when purchased in advance and $25.00 when purchased at the door. The Cold River Radio Show is the perfect mixture of live music and theater. Combining the art form of storytellers, performers, authors and musicians to create a one-of-a-kind variety show which focuses on New England history and culture, you’re sure to be entertained by each act that hits the stage. Covering New England’s fascinating and mysterious history, Cold River Radio Show introduces listeners to the New England way of life and the northeast’s most interesting characters. Performed at the Theater in the Wood, this enclosed, pavilion style theater is tucked away in the town of Intervale and set against beautiful views of the White Mountains. Tickets are $25.00 per show, with a brand new show debuting on March 8th. Tickets can be pre-purchased at J-Town Deli in Jackson or White Birch Books in North Conway or at the door the evening of the show.

Children’s theater can be just as entertaining for the young and young at heart. The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation hosts a Character Breakfast every Saturday until April 18th at Theater in the Woods. Featuring a small breakfast including pancakes paired with 100 Acre Wood Maple Syrup that is made on property, a storybook reading and a visit from the featured character of the week.  You and your family will even enjoy use of the 100 Acre Wood Trail System for the day to Nordic ski or snowshoe to continue the family fun.

The Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center in Fryeburg is a 380 seat theater, known as a “cultural heart-beat for small-town New England.” It hosts regular live music performances and video broadcasts of operas, movies and more. It is also home to the Palmina F. and Stephen S. Pace Galleries of Art, which is a professional art gallery featuring three exhibits yearly.  Coming up on March 7th, the performing arts center is hosting the Doo Wop band, The Corvettes. This band is making a comeback to this Fryeburg stage for an evening of entertainment and comical stage antics. You will enjoy an evening of classic Doo Wop era fun with fresh, new energy. Pair your evening of theater with dinner before the show. The Stone Mountain Arts Center (SMAC), a rustic barn nestled in the small town of Brownfield just minutes from North Conway, brings in nationally and regionally known acts along with a show-stopping menu. Watch comedy acts, soak up the talent of jazz musicians or get your heart rate going with lively acts ranging from Cajun musicians to folk singers. If it’s an evening of jumping and jiving you’re looking for, the live music scene in the valley is humming. Enjoy drinks and dancing with local bands playing at hot spots throughout the area. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening the Shannon Door Pub in Jackson features live music with regional musicians. Just down the road Wildcat Tavern features “Hoot Night” every Tuesday night, beginning at 8pm. Local and legendary New England musician, Jonathan Sarty MC’s the evening’s line-up featuring regulars such as guitar picker extraordinaire Tom Perkins and other special guest musicians.

Red Parka Pub in Glen, one of the most established ski pubs in the Mt. Washington Valley, has a band10_webregular schedule of live music from local bands including Shark Martin, Recklis and more. Every Monday night is also Open Mic, and with a little dose of courage from the pub’s specialty drinks you may even find yourself performing on stage.

Hobbs Tavern in Ossipee features live, inter-active shows in its upstairs bar. Everything from comedy acts to improv, paint nights and more, this tavern is a one-stop shop for all things entertainment. Featuring a wide array of menu options from Buffalo Wings to Seared Ahi Tuna to Bangers and Mash to prime cuts of steak, you will delight in the culinary and theatrical adventure waiting for you. And just to make sure you laugh a little bit harder at the show, Hobbs brews its own beer for a true craft experience.

The local ski areas in the valley can help you unwind from the snowy playgrounds with a happening après-ski scene in each of the mountain’s taverns. Cranmore entertains with live music in Zip’s Pub at the base of Cranmore Mountain with different bands featured weekly from 3:30pm to 6:30pm every weekend.

Attitash Mountain Resort not only offers two big mountains that can entertain with endless hours of skiing, it’s also a hot spot for après-ski entertainment. Enjoy Den Sessions at Bear Peak where you will take in weekly acoustic performances in The Den every Saturday from 2:00pm to 4:30pm.  In Ptarmigan’s Pub at Attitash Mountain bands are featured every Saturday afternoon from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

Attitash’s sister mountain, Wildcat also features live entertainment along with a full bar and full-serviced dining. Local bands perform every Saturday. The party starts at 12:30pm and keeps skiers entertained until 5:00pm.  Wildcat Mountain also presents a Blues and Brunch series where you can enjoy brunch over live blues music before you hit the slopes for just $30.00. Bartenders will also be mixing hand-crafted mimosas and bloody marys as well. The next Blues and Brunch event is March 15th with the musical stylings of Eric Ray.

The Trails End Tavern at King Pine Ski Area rocks out with live music every Tuesday and Friday evening at 7:00pm throughout the season. Mitch Alden will be performing on February 28th and Simon Crawford follows on March 7th.

Kick back at Black Mountain and enjoy great food and New Hampshire’s best micro-brews in The Lostbo Pub. Après ski specials with weekly live entertainment and beer promotions are going on from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Take a break from skiing and relax in front of the pub’s giant windows and catch rays on the deck overlooking the ski area while you replenish your energy with tasty appetizers, delicious burgers, wraps and creative hot and cold drinks brought right to your table.

Have a post-slope pint, as well as chowing down on the most sacred of ski diet staples; nachos and chili, in Blizzard’s Pub at Shawnee Peak. Boasting one of the area’s best bloody marys, kick you ski boots off and relax at Blizzards with regular live entertainment as well.

Apres-ski isn’t just for adults at Bretton Woods. While you will find some great options for adult-focused fun after a day of skiing at the mountain’s Slopeside Lounge, regularly scheduled kids après-ski events and parties are held every Saturday. Kids will have fun dancing to live entertainment, playing games and enjoying kid-friendly refreshments. Parents are welcome to leave their kids at this supervised program and enjoy their own style of entertainment at the Slopeside Lounge, making it easy for everyone to enjoy the end of their skiing and riding day at the mountain. If you’re looking for a casual evening of entertainment or a truly unique theatrical experience you can’t find anywhere else, the options are endless in our small New England town. The talent isn’t the only thing that will keep you surprised and captivated all night, but also the abundance of all the different shows you can experience in just one getaway.
